How to translate your client’s materials in languages other than English

Based on the languages supported, your Clinic Toolkit would cover approximately 146 countries, including those where these languages are official or widely spoken.

Arabic is spoken in 25+ countries in the Middle East, North Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, Levant and some parts of Asia

Chinese is spoken in many countries in which the most widely spoken dialect is Mandarin Chinese

French is the official language in 29+ countries, and the level of proficiency and usage can vary widely.

German is the official language in 6+ countries; proficiency levels and usage can vary widely.  Additionally, German is also spoken as a second language, particularly in former German colonies. 

Hindi is widely spoken in India, but it’s also used in several other countries due to historical and cultural ties. 

Italian is the official language of the following countries such as: 

Portuguese is the official language in 9+ countries, such as the following: 

Russia is the official language of Russia and former soviet states

Spanish is the official language in 20+ countries, such as: 

Hungarian is primarily spoken in Hungary, and significant-speaking minorities live in neighbouring countries. 

UK/ US English is spoken as an official or primary language in around 50+ countries

How to set up translations

• Click on the “Settings” tab in the left-hand menu.

  

• Click on the “Custom Text” option in the upper menu.

• Next, click the “NEW TRANSLATION” button.

• In the dropdown menu, select the language that you wish to add and click “ADD LANGUAGE”.

  

• You will see a pop-up letting you know that the translation has started and that this process will take a few minutes.

Selecting which clients will be able to view which languages

• Once the language has been added to your Clinic Toolkit account, you will see the language listed along with a person icon and a trash bin icon.

  

• Click the person icon in order to add this language to specific client accounts. Select the relevant clients and click the “UPDATE CLIENTS” button.

• If you no longer have a need for this language in this practice, you can delete it by clicking the trash bin icon.

Confirming the update

• You can see how this looks by switching to your client’s view. You can review how to do this HERE.

• In the upper right-hand corner, beside the client’s name, you will see the language settings.

• Click the dropdown menu and select the language.

  

• Within a few seconds, you will see the client’s portal and all the practical materials translated into the language of choice.

  

• You can inform your client that they can now switch languages.
